Looking for a octopus crochet pattern that is genuinely beginner friendly? Octopus by FullAmigurumi is a no-sew amigurumi design: the whole toy is worked as one continuous piece, so there is nothing to sew on at the end and nothing that can fall off. You receive the octopus crochet pattern as an instant PDF download in English, French, German and Spanish, with every round written out and photographed.
Eight tentacles that curl by themselves, worked one after another into the underside round.
The Design
The dome is a 42-stitch head with a lilac underside. Each tentacle is a 14-chain with increases at the tip — the crowding makes it curl on its own. Eight tentacles into every third stitch of one round, evenly spaced without measuring.
Transparency note: the pictures (listing and PDF) are AI-rendered visualisations of this original design, selected by hand by us; the written pattern, stitch maths and assembly logic are ours and were stitch-checked before release. Designed by FullAmigurumi.
No Sewing — Here'S How
- 42-stitch dome, 19 rounds
- Lilac underside as a colour change
- Self-curling tentacles worked into Row 16
Everything grows out of one piece; there is no assembly step at the end.
